The Forgetting Curve
A study at Indiana State university found using a three-week follow-up post test that students using a computer-based program had retained 39% of the knowledge gained during training compared to a retention level of less than 15% for a classroom-based group. They called this knowledge loss the "forgetting curve".
InTech has successfully implemented a solution to reduce this "forgetting curve" for a leading international computer service company. We are providing instructor-led Storage Area Networking courses with a twist. The three-day course is captured on videotape, indexed, and supplemented with graphic simulations of discussion topics.
Students receive this CD-ROM upon course completion. So when a situation comes up that they remember the instructor discussing, but are fuzzy on the details, they perform a topic search and review that portion of the class. This reinforces information received and increases knowledge retention by more than 20%!
